Big Boat Shows, Skills Workshop This Weekend

San Diego boat show underway, 2nd weekend in Dallas includes workshop

There are major boating events all over North America this weekend, including Dallas and San Diego, as well as in Florida, New York, North Carolina and even up in Nova Scotia.

Big Boats in San Diego
The 7th Annual San Diego Yacht and Boat Show is featuring Zac Sunderland all weekend; Zac became the youngest solo circumnavigator at age 17 a couple of years ago. (map, more info)

Get Skills in Big-D
This is also the second weekend of the Dallas Boat Show (map, more info). You may recall we suggested you hold off until this weekend to attend this show so that you can take advantage of the DIY Skills Class: How to Solve Common Boating Problems. If you were wondering what you'll get out of this class, check out this piece about the boating skills workshop in the Dallas News, or visit the workshop website for more details and discount admission.

Gotta Love NY
Thanks to either bad planning, a lack of communication, or perhaps some unknown feud between the organizers, New Yorkers have their choice of two boat shows on the finger lakes this weekend.
  • The 13th Annual Finger Lakes Boating Museum Boat Show is Saturday and Sunday on Geneva lake, about halfway between Syracuse and Rochester. (Map, more info)

  • And, the Skaneateles Antique and Classic Boat Show is Friday through Sunday in Skaneateles, NY, about two lakes to the right of Geneva. (Map, more info)

  • Flea to Florida
Florida residents needn't worry, they have a boat show of sorts, too. The Indian River Nautical Flea Market and Seafood Festival is this Saturday and Sunday at Indian River Fairgrounds in Vero Beach. (Map, more info)

    And the rest...
Additional events this weekend include the Cape Fear Community College Boat Show and the Nova Scotia In-Water Boat Show. For info about all of this weekend's boating events, visit our boat show calendar.
