This weekend is packed with boat shows. Photo © Nautical Sites Media |
If you are looking for something to do this weekend, and you like boats, you are in luck. There are boat shows on both coasts of the US, several points in between, and all over Florida, where it's Jimmy Buffett Day this Saturday. There are also boat shows in Europe and Asia.
Now for more specifics.
West of Us
One of the biggest shows happening this weekend is Strictly Sail Pacific in Oakland, California. The show's website claims this is the only all-sailboat show on the west coast. The show will feature the America's Cup - yes, the actual trophy will be on display, as will the team that last won it. Also to our west this weekend is the South West International In-Water Boat Show in League City, Texas, which is in near Galveston Bay. And to our southwest is the LOMDA April In Water Boat Show. For those of you not in the know, LOMDA = Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association, and the best part is the show is at a bar in Missouri.
Four in Florida
Florida is making the most of Jimmy Buffett Day (story on our FaceBook page), with four nautical events spread around the state, including the following:
Southeast US Boat Show in JacksonvilleOutside the US
Suncoast Boat Show of Downtown Sarasota
Apalachicola Annual Antique and Classic Boat Show
Charlotte County Nautical Flea Market and Seafood Festival
This weekend's events in the rest of the world include boat shows in
Venice, Shanghai and Gocek, Turkey.
