This weekend's nautical events include more than boat shows - they feature festivals, free fishing and fun...

Each Thursday we list all the boat shows and nautical festivities happening that weekend so that you can have a chance to go to one if it's near you. And if you can't get out on the water this weekend, but want to do something nautical, you're in luck - there are a bunch of boat shows and festivals around the country and around the world, and it's the start of National Fishing and Boating Week to boot!

National Fishing and Boating Week
This Saturday is the first day of National Fishing and Boating Week, a national celebration of, well... you guessed it... fishing and boating. To kick off the week-long celebration, TakeMeFishing.org is launching a contest TODAY on Facebook. Many states are also offering a free fishing day this week, where you can fish without obtaining a license. (Click here, and scroll down to see when and if your state is on the list.) Try it, and maybe you'll get HOOKED.

This weekend there are a few festivals, a few boat shows, and a few events that combine both, including...

Logan Martin LakeFest and Boat Show in Pell City, Alabama
Bristol Boat Show and Art Expo in Bristol, Rhode Island
Open Boat Weekend and Swap Meet in Seattle, Washington
Spring Lake Wooden Boat Show in Spring Lake, Michigan

Outside the US
Even outside the US, the boat shows this weekend seem to be combining music and other activities with the traditional display of boats for sale. It must be the weather! Anyhow, International events this weekend include the Baltic Marine Festival in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and the Floating Boat and Marine Trade Show in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
