With the 4th of July weekend upon us, there are just a few boat shows and events happening...

With the 4th of July falling on a Wednesday this year, we really sort of have TWO 4th of July weekends. This one coming up is the 2nd one, and there are a few events to tell you about, including boat shows in Cabo and New York, and tall ships in New England.

Read on for this week's nautical event round-up...

We've looked at this weekend's boating events below; and, as always, you are welcome to jump ahead to the First Boat boat show calendar for a quick look at the lineup of boating and fishing events this weekend and beyond.

Boat Shows
Do you love New York and classic boats? Then the 15th annual Antique and Classic Boat Show - Bemus Point is for you. The event is Friday, July 6th, through Sunday, July 8th 2012.

South of the border, we've got the Cabo Marine Show (A.K.A, Los Cabos International Boat Show) at IGY Marina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In its 3rd year, this hot show is running July 5th through Saturday the 7th.

Tall Ships in New England
Northeast boating enthusiasts have no excuse to miss tall ships this week...

OpSail is wrapping up in Boston today, July 5, 2012, and is moving to the final OpSail stop of 2012 - New London, CT. OpSail CT is combined with the city's annual SailFest, making New London the place to be in Connecticut this weekend. OpSail CT is from Friday, July 6 to Sunday, July 9, while SailFest goes through the 8th.

Some of the tall ships from Boston must not want to go all the way to Long Island Sound... there is also a tall ship event in Newport, RI. The Ocean State Tall Ships Festival runs from Friday, July 6 to Sunday, July 9.
