The season started last week with a scattered collection of boat shows, mostly up and down the east coast. But this week the international boating scene really heats up with boat shows in the UK, France, and here at home in the USA in Newport, Rhode Island.
And please mark your calendars: one week from today is the biggest in-water boat show in our home state of Connecticut! Make plans now to check out the Progressive Insurance Norwalk Boat Show at Norwalk Cove Marina September 20 - 23, 2012.

This Weekend's Events
This past Tuesday (9/11) was the first day of the International Cannes Boat Show, aka Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes, which calls itself Europe’s leading in-water boat show and the first international show on the annual boat show calendar. Perhaps it depends on when you start the annual calendar, because if you start in January, Miami would certainly give this show a run for its money. That being said, Cannes, which goes through Sunday, is a huge, respectable show with a large display of mega yachts. If you're in Europe this weekend, you should go to this show.
