Read on for our review of the Sperry Top-Sider SeaRacer boot, which is made for serious sailing...
Sperry Top-Sider SeaRacer boot
The Sperry Top-Sider SeaRacer boot is a high performance boat boot that offers outstanding comfort and performance. The SeaRacer is designed for extreme coastal and offshore conditions; they feature waterproof design, warmth and the latest Sperry technology that provide unparalleled traction on wet decks. The first thing you will notice is the quality construction. The SeaRacer is made from waterproof leather with a taped and sealed seam construction that is highly breathable while offering waterproof membranes. This design enables the boot to be fully waterproof. It is also constructed from hydrophonic meshes and linings with 200g of insulation to help you comfortably manage the cold.
When you are racing about on deck, you will appreciate the sticky Hydro-Grip™ rubber outsoles that feature Sperry’s Adaptive Wave-Siping™(AWS). This is the same technology used on the SeaRacer and Kingfisher sneakers. These are designed to effectively grip wet and angled decks by dispersing water underfoot to maximize contact and grip with the deck.
These SeaRacers replaced a pair of Sperry Fathom’s (which I loved) and I’m quite pleased. One tip is to order them on the large side, this was my experience and seemed to be the case for others who use the SeaRacer.
