The associated press is reporting today that a lost one or two month-old baby whale thinks a yacht is its mom. This is happening right now off north Sydney.

CNN just told me that a woman on a boat died after a spotted eagle ray leaped from the water off the Florida Keys Thursday and struck her while she was sitting on the bow of a boat going 25 mph.

The spotted-eagle ray weighed about 75 to 80 pounds and had a six-foot wingspan!

Meanwhile, I'm going to search YouTube to see if anybody has video of one of these rays flying through the air, which apparently happens all the time - usually without incident.
